Anywhere you're not sure of the answer — before you sign, before you reply, when a charge shows up, when a notice arrives, when you're trying to get your deposit back — we want to be the calm voice that tells you what to do.
Why this exists
Renting in 2026 is a one-sided conversation. The lease shows up as a 30-page PDF the day you're supposed to move, written by landlord-side counsel. Late fees, deposit holds, entry rules, lockout claims — everything is drafted to favor the landlord, and most renters don't have the time, the training, or the lawyer on retainer to push back.
Monelo evens that conversation up. We read what they sent you and the tenant law where you live, and we tell you what to do — in plain English, with the words to send back. The kind of read a friend who happens to be a tenant lawyer would do, on demand.
What we are, and what we aren't
We are a reader built for renters. Today, that means a careful lease analysis that flags every clause worth a closer look, with the local statutes and the language to negotiate. It also means a growing library of tenant guides answering the questions renters actually search — "can my landlord raise my rent," "can they show up unannounced," "how do I get my deposit back." More is coming: tools for responding to a landlord email, for challenging a charge, for demanding your deposit back. The product surface keeps growing — the principle doesn't.
We aren't a law firm. We don't pretend to be. Reading anything we publish doesn't create an attorney-client relationship. For anything high-stakes — active disputes, evictions, commercial leases, unusual property types — talk to a licensed tenant attorney where you live. We're the first call, not the last one.
How we treat your stuff
Your uploaded lease is processed only to generate your report and is dropped right after. We don't keep your document on our servers, and your lease is never used to train AI — ours or anyone else's. We don't sell your data. The full mechanics are in the privacy policy.
How we charge
One-time payment per report. No subscription, no auto-renewal, no recurring anything. Try the free temperature read first — verdict, counts, and the basics — and if it's worth a closer look, upgrade to the full report. If the report isn't useful, email us within 7 days and we'll refund it. No forms.
